First day of school for Colin today. It's hard to believe that he is already in the first grade. Camden was very sad that Colin wouldn't be at home today, and Kari, well, she was very excited that school is back in session.

Kari and Colin got their belts today...rewards for a ton of hard work. I'm scared of both of them now, by the way.

Kari and Colin had belt testing today. Kari tested for her purple belt, and Colin tested for his blue belt. Both did great, and Kari even did a demo for the crowd. Camden was very excited.

Our friend Kevin McCloskey had his television pilot premiere tonight in Hollywood. Kevin is a writer for 'Trinity', and also an actor. We were all going to go to the Premiere, but due to babysitter issues, I stayed at home with the kiddies, and Kari went. Kevin is pictured above doing the interview scene. Kari is standing with Angie Renken, and Kevin's wife Christine, and daughter Rachel. To check out the trailer click here. Way to go Kev!

Our First Earthquake

Colin Painting
It was bound to happen, and the good news is Kari and boys slept right through it. You can get info on it by clicking here. It was very minor, apparently a 4.5, with the epicenter about 7 miles from our house. I was up doing some work for the upcoming weekend and my chair started shaking. It felt like someone was behind me shaking the chair back and forth, not in a violent way, more like it was one of those massage chairs...but considering it is an overstuffed lazy boy chair, I stood up right away. I should say I jumped up right away. At first I thought OK, it must have been our dog Zilla. But then I realized she was in bed with Kari. I then realized what it was, and checked out the information. I guess we had a minor after shock about 15 minutes later, and I didn't feel that at all. I wish I would have known what it was, so I could have watched other things in our house to see how they responded... I didn't notice any other movement around me.

This is how we roll

We had such a great time this weekend. Kari and I went to Palm Desert with about 300 other married couples from Calvary. This was the annual marriage retreat weekend, and it was a fun, kid free, environment...at 112 degrees! But it's a dry heat. Oh yeah, we also saw The Bourne Ultimatum! What a weekend, I wore and nose ring and went to a movie. No one tell my mom please, she'll be pissed at the nose ring thing.

Camden took a pee-wee karate class today. He loved it, and seemed to do really well. You'll notice that he has his Mom's kicks.

Seriously Another One!

Number 8 came out today. For those of you keeping track at home, Colin has lost 4 teeth in two weeks. Believe it or not he lost two teeth within 24-hours. The tooth fairy now knows how late Target stays open in several nearby locations.
